Usseln milk discovery trail
A family tour all about farming, waymarked with Kuh Helma the cow. Pön Hütte, Graf Stolberg Hütte, shelters and rest areas along the way.
A 6 km themed trail on milk and farming. Fresh country air, fresh milk and original interactive stations make for a successful family outing. Simply pick up the quiz sheet at the tourist information office at the start and receive a refreshing prize at the finish. With the stamp pass app, Kuh Helma asks questions digitally.
The children learn how many litres a cow drinks every day, ring cowbells at the source of the Diemel and throw spruce cones through the holes of a cheese tarpaulin. Short films about farming are shown in the hay barn cinema. A telescope station, photo point and cowpat trampoline are further highlights.
Anyone who needs a break along the way can stop at the Graf Stolberg Hütte or the Pön Hütte for a sweet or savoury treat, or use one of the shelters and rest areas along the trail. Finally, it’s off to the Muhseumscafé of the Upländer Bauernmolkerei dairy, where visitors discover historical, fascinating and tasty things all about milk.
